Even with a good backup you can still face hours, if
not days of downtime while you system gets rebuilt
and your backed up files get restored.
Unless you have
a BounceBack backup.
I recently decided to upgrade my hard drive on my
laptop and chose to put my BounceBack Backup to the
test. A 120Gb Hard drive was installed in a USB 2.0
enclosure and a full system backup was done to this
new drive. I then took the drive out of the
enclosure and swapped it with the hard disk in my
laptop. Powered up and within 10 minutes my laptop
was fully functional with a new 120Gb in place of
the stock 40Gb hard drive the system came with.
Imagine if your desktop PC was backed up using this
software, a dead hard drive would become nothing
more than a minor inconvenience. Simply swap the
backup drive with the dead drive and you are up and
running. Want a bigger backup window? Simply
purchase an additional hard drive, one big enough to
take a weeks worth of back ups and the software can
create a "versioning" backup allow you to restore
back as far as your backups go.
Got an 80Gb drive in your PC? Get a 500Gb backup
drive and create a complete system mirror each day
of the week on one drive.
BounceBack truly
is a great piece of software, otherwise we wouldn't
be using it.
